Greek History Month Proclamation

Greek History Month Proclamation
|

Andreas Koutsoudakis, Michael Iakovou, Zoe Pilios, and Zoe Darmon attended an event hosted by The New York State Senate and Assembly.

Yesterday, KI Legal was honored to have been present in the New York State Senate and Assembly as they memorialized Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim March 2023 as “Greek History Month” in the state of New York.

Yesterday’s celebrations began with a Greek Heritage Celebration luncheon organized by State Senators Andrew Gounardes, Michael Gianaris, and James Skoufis, and Assemblymembers Michael Tannousis and John Lemondes, and co-hosted by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and Order of AHEPA. The event featured Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, who offered the invocation and benediction, and Consul Generals of the Hellenic Republic and Cyprus in New York, Konstantinos Konstantinou and Michalis Firillas, who spoke on the history, and significance of, U.S.-Greece-Cyprus relations - not only in the past but also the future.

Additionally, each legislator honored a Greek-American member of their respective districts during the event, taking this moment to thank them for all the work they have done for the community. Afterwards, in their respective sessions, Senators Gounardes, Gianaris, and Skoufis, and Assemblymembers Tannousis and Lemondes shared their own personal stories as Greek-Americans and further why this day was so significant.

On behalf of all of us here at KI Legal, we want to say congratulations to all involved in making this historic day happen, and extend a special congratulations to our Partner Michael Tannousis for his hard work and beautiful words that shone through. We promise to continue doing our own part as proud members and supporters of the Greek-American community as well.
